Lateef Belfor
Head of Construction
Lateef Belfor heads the Third Act III Development’s Construction division. He is a leading construction professional and subject-matter expert throughout New York City and the state for over 15 years.
For over five years, Lateef has overseen both field and office construction operations across a wide range of projects. These include work in elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, cultural institutions, high-rise residential buildings, commercial spaces, athletic centers, and aviation facilities.
With a growing shortage of skilled labor and an aging workforce, he recognizes that the construction industry is under pressure to equip new hires with the necessary skills to assume new positions. Classroom instruction, although useful, often fails to prepare workers for the realities of job sites adequately. Given this challenge in today’s industry, He has dedicated a large portion of his career to mentorship. As a skilled communicator who excels at guiding designers, construction teams, and clients across diverse sectors, he brings expertise in on-site coordination, labor relations, budgeting, scheduling, and the daily management of subcontractors, consistently demonstrating a commitment to excellence and project success.
Lateef’s professional approach emphasizes ways to increase MWBE capacity in the construction industry and is known for his approachable leadership style, concentration on site safety, and collaboration, while also focusing on the development of emerging talent in construction businesses.
As a result, Mr. Belfor has increased his attention on how companies can institute mentorship programs to pair new talent with his team of experienced professionals that deliver hands-on guidance and real-time support. This helps new talent develop skills more quickly.
While Mr. Belfor recognizes the advantages of mentorship, he also allocates his time to meet mentorship challenges, including locating experienced technicians who can spend time on education, identifying how mentorship can be a consistent form of learning for industry newcomers, and aligning the right mentors with learners.
Lateef holds academic training from CUNY New York City in Technology with a focus on construction management and civil engineering.
